Italy’s Anti-Discrimination Chief Quits Following Gay Sex Club Allegations
Francesco Spano, the head of Italy’s anti-discrimination office, resigned after being accused of spending government funds on gay sex clubs, Reuters reports
The government funds were supposed to fight racism; instead, they went to maintain three gay sex clubs disguised as cultural centers.
An investigative TV show called The Hyenas
uncovered the scandal. They visited the so-called “cultural centers” and were greeted by male sex workers inviting them into “dark rooms.”
Spano’s department had given up to 55,000 euros to each of these clubs.
